Islamic Gallery

The Islamic Gallery at IC&RC has been planned to create an inspiring and educational vision displayed across an extensive gallery. It shall comprise of a spectrum of religious, cultural and historical material reflecting the beginnings of Islam to Shahadat-e-Hussain in Karbala in late seventh century to the present-day Islamic world from western Africa to Southeast Asia. Scientific discoveries, technical achievements and academic contributions by Muslim scientists and philosophers shall be on display. The research, planning and collection of material and artifacts has begun with help and support from friends, patrons and likeminded associates. From archeological content to contemporary art to objects of daily life, the Islamic Gallery shall bring together stories of interconnected worlds across time and geography. The Gallery shall offer creative ways for visitors to engage with the historical events, Islamic culture, religious traditions, rites and rituals, using latest advances in technology and audio-visual media. Effects shall be created through listening to stories, sounds and digital films, and accentuating light-sensitive works such as paintings, calligraphies and artifacts on display.

Community members are encouraged to donate Islamic oriented Artwork to augment the capacity and objectives of Islamic Gallery.
