Anjuman-e-Mohammadi is a registered, non-profit organization established with the objective of conducting social and community service and promoting – especially among our youth and children – an intelligent and active appreciation of the basic Islamic tenets and virtues. It endeavors to fulfill the need for a more methodical and research-oriented approach to unite the Muslim Community and restore our global image of a rational, peaceful, organized and scientific community.
Anjuman-e-Mohammadi (or the Anjuman) is registered with the Joint Stock Companies pursuant to the provisions of the Societies Registration Act 1860. The Anjuman is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization. Its primary objectives are enshrined in its constitution.
It was founded by a group of notable personalities on 5th of April, 1964. It is a non-political, independent Islamic institution established to promote, especially among children and young men, an intelligent and active appreciation of the basic Islamic principles and virtues, develop unity and solidarity among Muslims, manage a mosque and other ancillary structures for religious gatherings, provide community and research facilities aimed at understanding of the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-e-Bayt (AS), and supporting the underprivileged members of the Community.
In its initial phase, the mosque was built and completed in 1969. Subsequently, a series of capacity extension programs were implemented to cope with the supplementary requirements.
In 2013, a landmark program was launched and completed by early 2018, which enhanced the indoor prayer capacity from 500 to over 5,000 people. In addition, consistent with the vision of Anjuman’s founders, for community Islamic services known as Bab-ul-Ilm (Gate of Knowledge), additional space was appropriated and established. The extension project was designed by Nayyar Ali Dada & Associates, supported by a technical team of REC Republic Engineering.
The Anjuman prohibits discussion or publication of any controversial issue that purports to degrade or cause indignity to the belief of other Islamic or non-Islamic Sects.
